Program Director / Post-doctoral fellowship (80%-100%)
for the “BRIGHT” (Building Research Initiative Group: Chronic Illness Management and
AdHerence in Transplantation)-study”– an international multicenter program which aims at
assessing medication adherence and its associated patient, health care provider and healthcare systemrelated
factors in heart transplant recipients (time period: 2010-2012).
The Program Director/Postdoctoral fellow collaborates with the Principal Investigator, develops, under
minimal supervision, the infrastructure and coordinates the day-to-day operations of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities
The program director/postdoctoral fellow:
• Directs the daily activities of the project, leads the development and implementation of standard
operating procedures.
• Establishes project goals and monitors the operational effectiveness of the infrastructure in terms of
meeting project goals in collaboration with the PI.
• Collaborates with the PI to maintain an organizational structure and staffing to effectively
accomplish the project goals, and recruits, trains, and supervises the staff.
• Develops and maintains a website to help disseminating project documents to the project team.
• Manages the budget of the project.
• Communicates and collaborates with subcontractors to ensure project deliverables are received on time.
• Communicates and collaborates with an international consortium of researchers on study progress.
• Communicates and collaborates with Transplant Centers to ensure IRB compliance, fidelity to
study protocol.
• Oversees the development of an infrastructure supporting center tracking databases, patient
recruitment and response rate databases, and instrument level databases.
• Assists in the writing of publications and presentations.
Minimum Requirements
PhD in related area
• At least 5 years of experience in managing multicenter research projects
• Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams particularly in the context of clinical research
• Experience with survey data or large datasets
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, SAS, SPSS or STATA.
• Written and oral language proficiency in English: Proficiency in other languages is an asset.
